If you only get one brunch in Bangkok, book Fran's in Sathorn and order the Velvet Egg & Bacon. For a breakfast no other city does, get to On Lok Yun before 8am for eggs, ham and custard toast in a coffee shop that's been open since 1933. And if it's Sunday and you want the full hotel spread, the Anantara Siam's runs every week from noon.

We checked every place below in October 2026: still open, hours, closed days, prices and how hard it is to get a table. Bangkok hours move around, so tap the map link before you go. If coffee matters more than the food, our Bangkok cafe list is the one you want.

Where to have brunch in Silom and Sathorn

Three of the best brunches in town sit between MRT Lumphini and BTS Surasak. Rocket Coffeebar on Sathorn Soi 12, in our cafe list, makes a fourth.

Fran's Brunch & Greens

Go for the Velvet Egg & Bacon. The glasshouse on Soi Ngam Duphli had queues round the block when it opened, and it's still the first answer to "best brunch in Bangkok". The dish is an open sandwich of soft scrambled eggs and thick-cut bacon, about 390 baht. The lemon poppy seed ricotta pancakes (360) are the sweet one. Expect 500 to 1,000 baht a head with drinks. Tables go almost as soon as they're released, so book days ahead and avoid lunchtime. Open daily 8am to 9pm, about 10 minutes' walk from MRT Lumphini. Full? Try the branches on Soi Ari 4 or Sukhumvit 49. Map

Plates at Fran's are built for two, and brunch here takes a couple of hours whether you plan it or not. On your own in Bangkok? A Thai friend can come along and split the pancakes.

Luka

Go for the breakfast burrito. A glass-walled cafe on Pan Road, beside the Sri Maha Mariamman temple, and one of Silom's busiest brunch rooms. The burrito is 355 baht and the bacon and butter French toast 290, and most people spend 400 to 600. At weekends it's full by mid-morning, so book or arrive before nine. It opens at 8am (10am on Thursdays, by one listing) and closes around 5:30 to 6pm. About 5 minutes' walk from BTS Surasak or Saint Louis. Map

(Not Just) Another Cup

Go for eggs Benedict. A cafe 50 metres into Sathorn Soi 10, four minutes from BTS Chong Nonsi, with some of the fairest prices in the area: eggs Benedict with back bacon is 300 baht, the Mexican breakfast 370 and a piccolo latte 90. Office workers fill it on weekdays, so Saturday is usually calmer, though a 9am walk-in can still find it full. Call ahead on 02 635 3464. Open daily 7am to 6 or 7pm. Map

Where to have brunch on Sukhumvit

The sois off BTS Phrom Phong and Thong Lo are full of brunch places, and they're long. Walk to Larder and Okonomi, and take a Grab to Kay's. Folk Lane, the old Toby's on Sukhumvit 38, is in the cafe list.

Larder BKK

Go for the sandwiches. A white concrete bakery-cafe on Soi Phrom Chai, off Sukhumvit 39, that bakes its own bread and makes its own cold cuts. Everyone mentions the Tuna 3000 (330 baht). The hot pastrami on shokupan (290) is the other one to get. A flat white is 140, and most people spend 250 to 500. Open daily from 7 or 8am to about 5pm, 8 to 10 minutes' walk from BTS Phrom Phong. There's a second Larder near Chatuchak. Map

Kay's

Go for the pancakes, and a short wait. A big cafe in the Yard 49 complex on Sukhumvit 49 with a long all-day menu: fluffy pancakes, eggs royale, house-cured salmon on crispy hash browns, scallop bomb toast. It's spacious enough that you'll rarely wait long, which is unusual for a brunch place this well known. The bigger plates, like the burger or the fish and chips, are 445 to 495 baht, and a cappuccino 110. Open daily 7:30am to 10pm. Take a Grab from BTS Phrom Phong or Thong Lo. Kay's Sathorn, on Sri Wiang Road, opens even earlier, at 6:30am. Map

Okonomi

Go for a Japanese breakfast. A short walk down Sukhumvit 38 from BTS Thong Lo, and the one Sukhumvit brunch that isn't eggs and toast. Come in the morning for the Ichiju Gosai: grilled fish, five seasonal sides, multigrain rice and miso soup. The rest of the menu is 270 to 420 baht, from a salmon breakfast bowl (350) to snow crab and avocado Benedict (420). Portions are small. Open daily 7am to 7pm. Map

Where to have brunch near Chit Lom

Two very different breakfasts, both close to BTS Chit Lom.

Baan Langsuan

Go for a Thai breakfast in an old house. A white house about a century old on Soi Lang Suan, serving the breakfasts Bangkok grew up on: pan-fried eggs in their little skillet, a crisp, puffed-up omelette over jasmine rice, khao tom with a spread of side dishes, Thai coffee with toast and pandan custard. It's the easiest place on this list to try a Thai breakfast at a proper table. Most people spend 250 to 500 baht. It opens at 7 or 7:30am. One listing closes it at 5pm and on Mondays, another keeps it open daily until 11:30pm, so check before a Monday or an evening visit. About 8 minutes' walk from BTS Chit Lom. Map

Mickey's Diner

Go for chicken and waffles. A full American diner on the ground floor of Gaysorn Amarin, joined to BTS Chit Lom by the skywalk. Order the fried chicken and waffles, or the AFR Jumbo, Thai-style American fried rice with crispy fried chicken, and a strawberry milkshake. Plates run about 200 to 500 baht. Open daily 8am to 11pm, which makes it the brunch for late risers. Map

Where to have brunch in Ari

Ari is a leafy neighbourhood five stops north of Siam, made for slow Saturdays. Fran's has a branch on Soi Ari 4. To make a day of it, from breakfast to the bar, see Ari, Bangkok.

Brook's Brunch and Bar

Go for Ari's Plate. A brunch place and wine bar on Soi Ari 4 North, 10 minutes' walk from BTS Ari exit 3. Ari's Plate (715 baht) is an omelette with grilled sea bass and a mentaiko dip, and the chicken waffle is 295. Expect 500 to 1,000 a head. Brunch runs until about 6pm, then it's a bar with live music and nearly 100 wines. It opens at 8:30am (10am on weekdays, by one listing) and stays open until midnight. Book at the weekend. Map

Where to have breakfast by the river and in the old town

Charoen Krung Road runs from the old town down along the river to Bang Rak, and it's the best street in the city for breakfast. On Lok Yun is at the top end, Sarnies and Jok Prince near the bottom.

Sarnies

Go for the big breakfast. Two century-old shophouses on Charoen Krung Soi 44, five minutes' walk from BTS Saphan Taksin, with an all-day menu built on house sourdough. The Tom Yum Eggs Benedict is the dish people talk about, the messy omelette (440 baht) the other, and a flat white is 130, so budget about 600 a head. Weekend mornings are the busiest: come early or book through Grab Dine Out. Open daily from 8am to 9:30 or 10pm. Map

On Lok Yun

Go for eggs, ham and custard toast in a 1933 coffee shop. The most Bangkok breakfast on this list: a worn two-storey shophouse at 72 Charoen Krung Road, four minutes' walk from MRT Sam Yot. Order the egg set with ham, sausage and bacon (about 85 to 90 baht), toast with sangkhaya, the pandan custard, and an iced Thai tea or an old-style coffee (40 to 45). There are no bookings. Get there at 8am and you'll wait under 15 minutes. Later, the line on the pavement grows, and they bring you hot tea while you wait. Open daily 6am to 2:30pm. Map

If the queue's too long, Kope Hya Tai Kee by the Giant Swing, about 15 minutes' walk north, does the same kind of breakfast: old-style coffee, custard toast and fried eggs, daily from 7am to 8pm. Map

What does Bangkok eat for breakfast?

Ask a Bangkok office worker about breakfast and you'll hear one of these, bought on the way to work for under 100 baht, usually before 9am:

  • Jok: rice porridge cooked until the grains break down, with pork balls, ginger and an egg.
  • Khao tom: whole rice in clear broth with pork, fish or prawns. Thinner than jok, and also what the city eats after a night out.
  • Pa thong ko with nam tao hu: fried dough dipped in hot, sweet soy milk, sold from carts that pack up by about 9am.
  • Khao man gai: poached chicken on rice cooked in chicken fat, with a sauce of fermented soybean, ginger and chilli.

Monday is the city's street-cleaning day, so plenty of pavement carts stay home. The three shops below aren't affected. Pad thai is lunch and dinner, not breakfast: for that, see our pad thai list.

Jok Prince

Go for pork jok with an egg. A Michelin Bib Gourmand jok shop at 1391 Charoen Krung Road, opposite Central Bang Rak and four minutes from BTS Saphan Taksin. The porridge is silky with a faint smoky, slightly scorched edge, which is the house style. A bowl of pork jok is 67 baht, 94 with century egg, and pa thong ko on the side is 10. Mornings run 6am to 1pm, then it opens again from 3pm until late. One listing shows Wednesday as evenings only, so check before a Wednesday breakfast. Map

Jok Sam Yan

Go for jok at dawn. A jok shop on Soi Chula 11, off Banthat Thong Road by Chulalongkorn University, open from 5am and finished by 9:30am every day. It's jok or khao tom with a plate of pa thong ko, for roughly 50 to 80 baht. Come before eight. About 10 minutes' walk from MRT Sam Yan. Map

Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice

Go for khao man gai. The Pratunam chicken rice shop where the staff wear pink, at 962 Phetchaburi Soi 30, and long a Michelin Bib Gourmand pick. A regular plate is about 50 baht, more for a bigger one. It opens around 6am and runs late with an afternoon break, but listings disagree on the times, so check the map on the day. The queue builds from about 11am on weekdays, so come early. About 10 minutes' walk from Airport Rail Link Ratchaprarop. Map

Which hotel Sunday brunch is worth it?

Four long buffets running this season, at the prices we found in October 2026. All need a booking, and Christmas and New Year brunches cost more.

Anantara Siam

Go for the spread. The Grand Siam Sunday brunch fills Parichart Court and three of the hotel's restaurants every Sunday from noon to 3:30pm. With free-flow soft drinks it's 4,002 baht net (3,274 if you book early). With beer, wine and cocktails it's 6,120, and children aged 5 to 11 pay 2,001. Book online through the hotel. It's beside BTS Ratchadamri. Map

The Sukhothai

Go for a slower Sunday. The brunch at Colonnade runs on one or two Sundays a month: 8 and 22 November and 13 December this year. It's 3,900 baht net with soft drinks, tea and coffee, from 12:30 to 3:30pm. Call 02 344 8888 to book. About 10 minutes' walk from MRT Lumphini. Map

Lord Jim's, Mandarin Oriental

Go for seafood by the river. The hotel calls it a weekend buffet lunch, and it's the one to pick if price doesn't matter: seafood looking over the Chao Phraya, 11:30am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. It's 3,800 baht plus 10% service and tax, about 4,470 net, drinks extra. Take the boat to Oriental pier, or walk 10 minutes from BTS Saphan Taksin. Map

Goji Kitchen + Bar, Marriott Marquis Queen's Park

Go for value. Goji's Signature Sunday Brunch runs from noon to 2:30pm and is the cheapest of the four: 2,899 baht plus service and VAT, about 3,410 net. It's an international buffet on Sukhumvit 22, about 8 minutes' walk from BTS Phrom Phong. Map

Do brunch with a Thai friend

Pick a place from this list, choose a friend in Bangkok and send them the day and time. Meet at the door. They come along, order in Thai, share the plates and keep you company through a long Sunday buffet. You book their time by the hour, and it's always platonic: no sex, no kissing, no harassment. Food and drinks are paid on the day, and for a free-flow brunch, pick a friend who's 20 or over. Here's how booking works.
