Is it safe to rent a friend?
Yes, when it's run properly. Every friend is picked by hand, everyone on the site is 18 or over, first meet-ups start somewhere public, and if anything makes either of you uncomfortable, you can end the meet-up and our team steps in. Anyone who asks for romance or sex loses their account. These are the rules everyone agrees to.
The short version
- Strictly platonic. Dating, romance and adult services aren't allowed.
- 18 and over only, for members and friends.
- First meet-ups start somewhere public.
- Anyone can say no. If something makes you uncomfortable, you can leave and our team steps in.
Platonic means platonic
You're booking a friend's time and company for an activity you choose. That's all. Asking for anything romantic or sexual, or pressuring a friend, gets your account closed.
If you're a member
- Meet at the public place you chose in your request.
- Stick to the plan you booked. If you want to change something on the day, ask your friend, and accept a no.
- Don't ask friends for their personal contact details or to meet outside Rent Thai Friend.
- If something feels wrong, leave, and tell us.
For our friends
- Friends choose which requests to accept.
- If a member breaks these rules or makes them uncomfortable, they can end the meet-up, and our team steps in.
- Their photos are blurred in public, and their real names and contact details are never shown.
18 and over
Members confirm they're 18 or over when they sign up and give us their real name and phone number. Every friend is 18 or over: we check their ID card or passport before their profile goes live. Friends who join drinks or nights out are 20 or over, Thailand's legal drinking age.
