These terms apply to rentthaifriend.com ("Rent Thai Friend", "we", "us"). Rent Thai Friend isn't a company: it's run by one person, trading under that name. By creating an account or sending a request you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What Rent Thai Friend is

Rent Thai Friend lets members book a friend's time and company, by the hour, for platonic activities the member chooses: meals, drinks, nights out, hikes, concerts, shopping, sport and the like. The friend comes along to your plans. Friends aren't guides, escorts or hostesses, and nobody here sells anything but their time and company.

Friends are independent people who choose which requests to take and set their own hourly rate. We pick every friend by hand, check their ID, and arrange each booking between the member and the friend.

2. Strictly platonic: no sex, no prostitution

Rent Thai Friend is not a dating, escort, hostess or sex service. Prostitution is a crime in Thailand under the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act B.E. 2539 (1996), and we don't allow anything like it. These rules apply to members and friends alike, before, during and after a booking.

Never allowed:

sex or any sexual act, or offering, asking for, arranging or paying for one;
touching beyond a handshake or a high five: no kissing, hugging, cuddling, holding hands, sitting on laps or massages;
going together to a hotel room, condo, house or any other private place (a karaoke room or private dining room at a venue that's open to the public is fine);
dates, romance or flirting, a friend acting as your girlfriend or boyfriend, or posing as your partner in front of anyone;
nude, sexual or suggestive photos, videos, messages or comments;
hostess or bar work: serving or pouring drinks at your table, "lady drinks", N-up or NV, or paying a bar fine to take someone out;
money, gifts or favours offered or asked for in exchange for anything on this list.

If a member asks for any of it, even as a joke, the friend can leave straight away, the booking's credits aren't returned, and we close the member's account for good. A friend who offers any of it is removed from Rent Thai Friend. Where we suspect prostitution, human trafficking or harm to anyone under 18, we report it to the Royal Thai Police and give them the information they ask for.

3. Age

Everyone on Rent Thai Friend is 18 or over, members and friends.
We check every friend's ID card or passport before their profile goes live, and record who checked it and when.
Friends who join drinks or nights out are 20 or over, the legal age in Thailand to buy alcohol and to enter bars and clubs. Don't buy alcohol for anyone under 20, take them into a bar or club, or pressure anyone to drink.
We never arrange a meet-up with anyone under 18. If you think someone on the site is under 18, tell us straight away.

4. Your account

You must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract. You may have one account, in your own name, with your real phone number.
You sign in with Google or LINE. Keep that account secure: anything done through your Rent Thai Friend account is your responsibility.
We may ask for more details or a photo ID, and we may require new accounts to be approved before they can see photos or send requests.
We may refuse an account, or suspend or close one, to keep friends and members safe or when these terms are broken (see section 11).
To delete your account, message us in the chat and we'll do it for you. Deleting it removes your wallet, and unspent credits aren't refunded. A deleted account is closed for good, and signing in again starts a new one. What we keep after that, and for how long, is in the Privacy Policy.

5. Bookings

A request names a friend, an activity, a date, a start time, a number of hours (at least the friend's minimum) and a meeting point. Meet-ups start at a public place.
A request isn't a booking until we confirm it. Friends can decline any request, and so can we, without giving a reason. If a request isn't confirmed, its credits come back to your wallet.
Once it's confirmed we send you the meeting details. Stick to the plan you booked. A change on the day is up to your friend, and it must stay within these terms.
Want more time? Ask us in the chat. Extra hours are booked and paid through Rent Thai Friend, never in cash to the friend.
If you're late, the booking still ends at the time you booked. Your friend waits 30 minutes; after that it counts as a no-show and the credits are used.
If your friend doesn't turn up within 30 minutes of the start time, tell us from your booking page or in the chat, and the booking's credits come back in full.
Either of you can end a meet-up at any time if you feel unsafe or the other person breaks these terms. If a friend leaves because the member broke them, the credits are used.
If we have to cancel a confirmed booking, its credits come back in full.

6. Credits, payment and refunds

You pay for bookings with credits, which you buy in packs by card through Stripe. Packs are priced in Thai baht. Prices and promotions can change, but credits you've bought keep the price you paid.
Each friend's rate is a number of credits an hour, with a minimum number of hours.
Sending a request holds the credits it needs, and confirmation uses them. If a friend declines, or we can't arrange or have to cancel the booking, the credits come back to your wallet.
You can cancel a request, or a confirmed booking before it starts, from your bookings page. Credits for anything you cancel aren't refunded.
Credits don't expire while your account is open.
While we run a sign-up promotion, new members get free credits once their account is approved. They're one per person and work like bought credits for bookings, but they have no cash value and are never refunded as money. If someone opens another account to get them again, we can take them back.
Credits aren't refundable once bought, whether you use them or not. Top up what you expect to use.
The exceptions: if a friend declines or we can't arrange or have to cancel a booking, its credits come back to your wallet (above); if we close your account without you having broken these terms, unspent credits are refunded to the card you paid with; and anything consumer law requires.
Credits bought before 19 October 2026 were sold as refundable, so unspent ones from those purchases can still be refunded to the card you paid with. Ask in the chat or at hello@rentthaifriend.com.
A refund goes to the card you paid with, at the price you paid per credit. Banks usually take 5 to 10 working days to show it.
The rate covers your friend's time. Food, drinks, tickets, transport and anything else your plan costs aren't included, and you pay for them on the day.
Pay only through Rent Thai Friend. Don't pay a friend directly for their time.
If you dispute a card payment with your bank, we may pause your account until it's settled and take back the credits that payment bought.

7. How to behave

You agree not to:

pressure, harass, threaten, follow or hurt a friend or anyone else, or keep asking after a no;
turn up drunk or high, or bring or use illegal drugs or weapons;
ask a friend for their phone number, LINE, social media or address, or arrange to meet them outside Rent Thai Friend;
photograph or film a friend without their OK, or post photos of them anywhere;
bring other people along unless your request said so and your friend agreed;
use a false name, someone else's account, or more than one account;
save, copy, scrape or share friends' photos or profiles, or try to get round how we protect them;
use the site for anything illegal in Thailand or wherever you are.

8. Chat and messages

The chat on the site goes to our team, not to friends. Keep it respectful: sections 2 and 7 apply there too. We send booking updates by email and, if you signed in with LINE and added our LINE Official Account, on LINE as well. Nobody answers chats on our LINE account, so use the chat on the site.

9. Photos, profiles and reviews

Friends' photos are blurred for the public and shown to approved members only, with the member's email as a faint watermark. You may not save, copy or share them.
Members can review a friend after a completed booking. Reviews must be honest and must not include anyone's personal information. We may remove reviews that break these terms.
The site, its text and its photos belong to Rent Thai Friend or to the people who let us use them.

10. Safety and our responsibility

We pick every friend by hand and check their ID, but we can't control everything that happens at a meet-up. Look after yourself and your belongings, keep to public places, and if anything feels wrong, leave and tell us.

You choose the activity, so the risks that come with it are yours, whether that's a hike, the sea or a night out. Follow the venue's rules and the law.
We aren't responsible for loss of or damage to belongings, for what you spend on the day, or for anything a friend does outside a booking.
If we're at fault, our liability for a booking is limited to what you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Closing accounts

We can suspend or close an account without notice if its owner breaks these terms, if the law requires it, or to keep someone safe. Its upcoming bookings are cancelled. If we close it because its owner broke these terms, its credits aren't refunded. If we close it for any other reason, unspent credits are refunded to the card they were paid with. Someone whose account we've closed may not sign up again.

12. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we'll email members about big changes before they apply. Using the site after that means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore handle any dispute about them. That doesn't take away any protection the consumer law of the country you live in gives you.
If a translation of these terms differs from the English, the English version applies.
